About Me: Alicia Cinnamon dubbed "Toronto's favorite spice" is a native of Toronto who grew up in a small community in the downtown core, before moving to Scarborough, where she discovered music and entertainment were a big part of the culture. She started performing at local block parties as a duo at the age of 7. Some of her musical influences are Lauryn Hill, Etta James, Ella Fitzgerald, Nina Simone, Faith Evans, Tupac and, SWV. Unsure of what to do with her unique, mature sound and messages she stayed behind the scene writing over 200 songs until a local rapper heard her singing in a karaoke bar. So intrigued by her heartfelt, soulful sound, he asked her to record several hooks for their record label "Time Wasted". In 2011 Alicia Cinnamon decided to further her career and started performing at local clubs, wedding and birthdays and eventually showcases. In 2013 she caught the attention of the media and was featured by CBC news as 1 of 6 black Canadians making a difference in their community after hearing her powerful song dedicated to a young man named Tyson Bailey who was gunned down in Regent park in January 2013. She was compelled to write a song preserving his memory after being asked to sing at his funeral. With her first solo video completed for her latest single "Time" a classic, sexy throwback to the 90's,set to drop this summer. Alicia Cinnamon continues to serenade the country with her sultry, soulful sound.
