About Me: Dawanna Murrell was born into a rich Indian Heritage of the Cherokee and Apache tribes. At the age of 8, she began acting and performing when she and her family lived in a small Alaskan village. She did voice-overs for the local television station in Galena. When she moved to California, she landed a contract with a major fast food chian, which led to 7 national commercials for them. At the age of 16, Dawanna modeled for an artist named Budd Sherrick (a.k.a: Rainbow Hands), who specializes in pastel portraits of Native American actors. These paintings are widely distributed throughout the world, and one portrait is featured on a Franklin Mint plate. Another portrait of her is on a pack of cigarettes called Morning Star Lights. Dawanna has also had the great privilege to participate and hold the title of Miss Covina, Miss Costa Mesa and Miss Petite of Southern California Pageant.
